WARDOGS Cash Guide: Every Payout and How to Farm It
The One Rule: Cash Is Persistent, Kit Is Not
You start with $10,000 and that balance follows you from match to match. What does not follow you is the kit you bought — die without a revive and the whole loadout is gone. A match is therefore a ledger, not a scoreboard:
Enter with $100,000 → earn $50,000 → spend $30,000 → leave with $120,000. Enter with $100,000 → earn $30,000 → spend $50,000 → leave with $80,000.
The two numbers in the top-right of the HUD are your total balance (right) and the running total for your current life (left). The second one starts negative the moment you buy a loadout — getting it back to positive before you die is the whole game economically.
What Pays
BULKHEAD’s own framing is “teamwork isn’t encouraged, it’s rewarded”. Every one of these actions credits cash, and most of them also credit class XP:
- Standing inside the Control Zone, and more per second inside the Hot Zone
- Kills, assists and spotted-target assists
- Healing, bandaging and reviving teammates
- Repairing vehicles and structures
- Delivering supplies to a FOB
- Transporting players by ground vehicle or helicopter
- Building emplacements at your FOB — and destroying the enemy’s
Reported payouts
These figures come from creators who played the August 21-23 Closed Beta. Treat them as beta-era numbers: BULKHEAD has already confirmed that progression and balance change for Early Access, so values may shift on September 10.
| Action | Reported payout | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Destroying an enemy spawn vehicle | ~$15,000 (needs 2 IEDs, placed and detonated separately) | DemoMan0351 beta tips, Aug 21 |
| Destroying an enemy FOB | ~$2,500 + 500 support XP (1 IED) | DemoMan0351 beta tips, Aug 21 |
| Kill on a target you spotted | ~$800 | DemoMan0351 beta tips, Aug 21 |
| Dropping a full Little Bird load at the zone | Roughly pays back the aircraft | DemoMan0351 beta tips, Aug 21 |
| Transporting a player into the zone | ~$500-$1,000 per passenger | Sportskeeda beta guide, Aug 23 |
| Team-killing a squadmate | −$1,500 fine per player | DemoMan0351 beta tips, Aug 21 |
Two multipliers sit on top of that list: the Hot Zone roughly doubles earnings, and kills taken far from the zone or off the main routes pay noticeably less.
The Four Reliable Money Jobs
1. Fly the taxi. Piloting transport is the most consistent early income and it levels your War Dog track at the same time. Practice at the training ground first — the friendly-fire fine is $1,500 per player, and crashing a full Little Bird is an expensive lesson.
2. Be the medic nobody else wants to be. Bandaging other players pays; bandaging yourself is expensive. Buying a defibrillator each life turns a 30-second revive into roughly 4-5 seconds, and revive assists pay even when someone else finishes the revive.
3. Spot everything. A spotting scope costs little and every marked enemy that a teammate kills pays out. It also puts the target on your team’s minimap, so it is the rare selfish-and-useful action.
4. Go FOB hunting with explosives. One IED on an enemy FOB, two on a spawn vehicle. Both are among the largest single payouts in the game, and both hurt the enemy team’s ability to hold the zone.
Spending Discipline
- Unlocks cost a lump sum. Reaching the required level only makes an item purchasable — the first buy is a large one-off unlock fee, then it is cheap to re-buy each life.
- Armour first. Armour-piercing ammo is not widely unlocked in the first days of a season, so plain body armour is disproportionately strong early.
- A parachute is ~$100 insurance on a $5,000 kit. If a SAM is tracking your helicopter, jumping out saves the gear.
- Buy ammo for equipment separately. Emplaced and heavy weapons do not always come loaded.
- Gold bars are cheapest early in a season. Cash converts to gold bars in the Black Market, and the conversion gets more expensive late in a season when everyone is cashing out.
What Is Coming
Cash currently flows one way: earn it, spend it on kit, convert the surplus to gold bars for cosmetics. BULKHEAD has said the Early Access metagame will add Investments, Missions, a Player Skills tree and a fuller Black Market & Vault — the menu entries were already visible during the beta. See the metagame page for what has actually been shown versus what is still a menu tab.
