Briefing

What is WARDOGS?

WARDOGS is a tactical all-out warfare fps by BULKHEAD (published by Team17) on PC (Steam), entering Steam Early Access on September 10, 2026 after passing one million wishlists. One hundred players split across three factions fight over a randomised 2×2 km Control Zone inside a 256 km² map, and the first team to 100 points wins.

What makes it different is that every life is bought. You start with $10,000 that persists between matches, and the game pays you for team actions rather than kills alone — so this site is organised around the money: what each action pays in the cash guide, what to spend it on in the loadout guide, and how the six progression tracks gate what you can buy at all. For the mechanics the tutorial skips, start with towers and drills — the tower code is how a team moves the Hot Zone.

Transport runs are the most reliable early income — passengers pay, and so does the game.

Reviving pays cash and Medic XP; dying without one costs you the whole loadout.

Get Started in 5 Steps

  1. Learn the win condition first. Three teams, one zone, one point every 30 seconds, first to 100 — the zone guide covers what the HUD is telling you.
  2. Buy cheap for your first lives. A rifle, level 1 armour and a medkit. The loadout guide explains the weight thresholds that decide whether you can sprint.
  3. Earn before you spend. Reviving, spotting and transporting all pay — see the cash guide for the reported payouts.
  4. Pick a track and feed it. Every item levels a specific class track, so what you shoot decides what you unlock.
  5. Fix the settings that matter. View distance, shadows and ADS FOV change what you can see — the settings guide has the order to change them in.
